Community Church of Hendersonville (CCH) seeks an Executive Pastor to lead and manage our mission to be relevant, connected people, radically changed by the love of Jesus, impacting our neighbors, near and far, with transforming truth and dynamic compassion.

As Community Church of Hendersonville (CCH) continues to grow and respond to the needs of the community and people it serves, the role of an Executive Pastor will work alongside the Senior Pastor to implement church goals by implementing strategies and systems to accomplish the vision of the church. The Executive Pastor will provide leadership and management to the internal operations of the church and church staff. This position will allow the senior pastor to have full capacity to serve as the spiritual leader for the congregation and provide overall vision and care to the people of the church and the community at large.

The Executive Pastor will be a relational and high-capacity leader to help CCH grow and influence our community and organization. This person must agree to the vision, goals and statements of faith and belief of CCH. The Executive Pastor will have a strong command of biblical scripture and be a committed Christ-follower. The person seeking to serve as Executive Pastor will have experience inspiring and equipping leaders to serve and lead as well as demonstrated experience being a good role-model, team player, and coach working with a variety of people and positions.

The Position

  • Serve as the ministry and administrative strategist within the framework of the CCH culture.
  • Oversee the execution of the daily operations and business functions of CCH.
  • In coordination with the Senior Pastor and Executive Board, create and maintain staff policies, procedures, operational best practices, and standards for executing goals.
  • Lead in partnership with the Senior Pastor in the development of long-range strategic plans, creating and implementing strategic/tactical goals and objectives for CCH that ensures delivery of key strategic plan initiatives.
  • Develop and implement a set of metrics and produce an organizational dashboard that can be used to measure progress towards strategic and tactical goals. This dashboard will serve as the primary briefing document for the Shepherd Board, SP, and other senior leaders within the organization.
  • Regularly advise the SP of the status of all internal operations and proactively advise on any emerging issues that present risk or opportunity for CCH.
  • Lead church staff meetings to ensure coordination and cooperation among all team members.
  • Lead and manage the different ministry teams to ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • In conjunction with the Senior Pastor and Executive Board, oversee the new staff hiring and on-boarding processes.
  • Solve interpersonal conflict or other team challenges as needed.
  • Oversee human resources functions to include but not limited to training, development, compensation and benefits, employee relations, performance evaluation, and recruiting. Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws while supporting employee growth and development.
  • Take ownership of cultivating a healthy culture within the church by modeling what it means to be in ministry and the importance of how people interface with others in the church as it directly determines how people feel when they enter and participate in CCH.
  • Support SP with other strategic projects and initiatives as assigned.
  • Participates as a full member of the Pastoral Staff, adhering to and exemplifying CCH’s core values.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor.

Education and Experience

The most competitive candidates will possess:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree (Ministry Education, Business, Finance, Communication, Liberal Arts etc.) required; Master’s degree or Doctorate in theological studies, divinity, or related fields (preferred) (Religious Studies, Biblical Studies, Education, etc.)
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a leadership position to include 4+ years of direct supervisory experience required; church experience preferred.
